Learn Laravel Application Architecture and Service Container
Follow a request through the application
A route maps a request to behavior, middleware applies cross-cutting checks, validation establishes trusted input, and application logic performs a focused operation. The response should communicate the outcome without leaking internal exceptions or sensitive data.
Use the service container intentionally
Laravel can resolve dependencies and bind interfaces to implementations. Use those bindings where they clarify a replaceable boundary, such as an external provider. Keep simple, local logic direct instead of adding a service layer without a distinct responsibility.
Protect domain operations
Use policies for authorization decisions and transactions when several writes must succeed together. Events and listeners can separate follow-up work, but event-driven behavior should remain observable and testable. Make repeated actions safe when requests or queued work can be retried.
Practice task
Implement an inventory adjustment endpoint with a dedicated request validator, a policy, a transaction, an application service for the domain rule, and tests for denied and duplicate operations.
