Learn Data Science Capstone: A Reproducible Project from Start to Finish
Choose a suitable question and dataset
Use data that is public, synthetic, or otherwise properly authorized. Define the intended audience and question, and check that the available fields can reasonably support the analysis.
Make the process reproducible
Document data origin, cleaning decisions, software dependencies, and steps to rerun the notebook. Use Git for code and notes; do not commit personal records, secrets, or files whose license does not permit sharing.
Compare against a baseline
Describe the target and features, choose an appropriate split, fit a baseline, and report metrics with their limitations. Check for leakage and explain what additional validation would be needed before real-world use.
Present evidence, not promises
Tell the reader what was observed, what remains uncertain, and what should happen next. A portfolio project can demonstrate learning, but it does not guarantee employment, salary, or a particular business result.
